PS4 in Action

PS4 in Action

So for this posts topic I'll be discussing the PS4's trailer released by PlayStation themselves.
Here's the clip they released.
They definitly show off the PS4 amazing graphics through other games which creates publicity for the game and the console and with publicity comes more pre-orders and buyers who can't wait for its release. In the video they only briefly show off the PS4, but its not the whole thing so they "sort of" skipped over its appearance and went straight for the the graphics. PlayStation is definitely a lovemark that many people love and respect for their consoles they've made over the years that have brought hours of excessive gameplay into the lives of many. With that their trailer took in some appeals that vary from person to person.
  • Appeal to Dominance- Their consoles make us feel empowered to be able to play in the amazing graphics of our favorite games. With sneak peaks at several games it's make it so the "possiblities are endless" for the PS4
  • Appeal to Autonomy- With other consoles such as the XBox 720, Ouya, GameStick, and the Steambox coming out in 2013, the PS4 has a lot of competition if they want to real in buyers and rise above the rest. They want to seperate themselves from this crowded competition and show us the gamers that they are a breed apart to choose them over the competitors
  • Need for Aesthetic Sensations- Lastly with those beautiful graphics, it's no wonder why so many people are attracted to this console. To us the viewers, it's full of wonder and empowers us to being able to say that we are going to be able to play with  highly realistic graphics giving us a enviornment that stimulates our senses
Well that's everything I have on the PS4. Thanks for reading and for those of you, who have 2 hours of extra time here's a replay of the live clip for the PS4's announcement. It really a flashy video put together that has more questions than answers, but it puts on quite a show :)

NigaHiga FTW!!!

Comedy can make you rich $.$?

So this posts topic will be on how people can make money off youtube and as an example I'll be using NigaHiga, a comedic Japanese American youtube ninja from Hilo, Hawaii that holds the a channel of of over 8 million subscribers. He appeals to viewers worldwide through his humor that's an appeal to humor that lightens moods and in an arguement, can undermine the opposition's statement.

Yeah... not his best picture. Let me try that again.
Alright that's better.
NigaHiga or otherwise known as Ryan Higa makes around $151,000 a YEAR, which is about $413 a day soley based on his youtube channel: Nigahiga . How does he do this? It's purely based on, You guessed it

COMEDY!!!!!!!! :)

Oh wait, that wasn't what you were thinking? Well this is awkward....
Anyway whether you knew it was comedy or not. It's how it's done. His charismatic personality and humorous attitude makes for a perfect combo that's attracted millions of viewers worldwide. Along with this attraction comes the ads that appear in the beginning of all his videos that makes him hundreds a day from several advertisers paying to get their ads seen. Even Higa does a little bit of his own marketing knowingly to unknowingly by appearing other youtubers' channels and videos to attract more to his channel.
Some of the marketing work he did purposely are like the short film he created and aired in November of 2010 in Los Angeles called Agents of Secret Stuff . This short film definitely attracted many viewers and the advertising that was clipped on to it raked in much money. At $1.28 to $5 per thousand views with a gross total of over 21 million views as of April 2013 the film made him about $26,880 to $105,000 since its release in 2010 purely based on views due to the unknown amount he is paid per thousand views.
In conclusion whether or not this is all for money or to make people laugh Ryan Higa is forever known as
Thanks for reading. That's all for this post.

Boston Marathon

News Discussion on the Boston Marathon Bombers

One of my favorite youttubes posted a news discussion on the Boston Marathon, so I decided to take a look. Just Kidding News used New York Daily News and the bombers tweets to talk about this subject boosting credibility of to talk about this. They tackled the subject really well by hitting on multiple views on the topic and dive into the impacts of the bombing on America and how we should react. They hit on the topic really well by taking in the thoughts of others of what they've heard and propose solutions of how to respond to these types of things. You can feel them getting into the emotions of this sad event right from the start when they state terrible news. Upon clicking on the video you may see an ad, this ties into the video we saw recently on buisnesses showing ads to make money so keep in mind every time you hit a video and see that ad youtube earns fifteen to fifty cents every time. After checking out the video be sure to check out Just Kidding's Films and if you're more interested in funny news compared to shorts take a look at their news on youtube. Alrighty then, that's all for now.

Blog Kickoff

To start things on our new assignment of media blogs, we'll have the weekend to customize and design to our heart's content. That is if homework doesn't kill us first :l .

This week there are several things going. We have our Earth week going on, but not that many people are acknowledging the themed days.... I hope we acknowledge the Earth more than we acknowledge Earth week at our school.

There's a musical going this week at the school and it's pretty decent with many acts that you have to be awake to see. The plays upcoming this week will be from Wednesday to Friday at 7:00pm for $5 for students and $10 for about everyone else (Hurray for being a student :D), with the exception that on Wednesday the 24th it'll be at a low low price of $2.
Now to end things off I'll have a URL posted for a website for those of  you who have had Starace may recognize. I will later post music videos on my video of the week page with a possible short clip of my friend Johnathan juggling tennis balls for 13 seconds :p. That's all for tonight hope you enjoy.
