American Cancer Society

May 5, 2013

So I wanted to do something on smoking for some reason, I'm not sure why... But I decided on this video because it's very comedic and I love it.

It has a definite appeal to humor and this is what drives the plot of this video. The humor plays into the goal of not smoking and encourages it by the consequences the guy has to endure if he or anyone around his girlfriend smokes. Though this doesn't occur in really life, it is really funny and is a way to help notify the public that smoking is bad and is a real turn off.

Iron Man 3

April 5, 2013

So recently Iron Man 3 came out in theaters, so I thought I'd evaluate the trailer. It waves around a lot of Subliminal Persuasion with all the epic music and camera pans with bits of the movie fed into  it. Besides having Robert Downey, Jr. in this movie again and it being one of the follow-up movies after Avengers, it has a bunch of glitter effects by having a story voiced by Tony Stark of what the movie is about. I haven't seen it yet, but usually the Iron Man movies haven't been going downhill at all ,so I expect a good review on this one. It plays into our emotions a little when we see the destruction after seeing the one thing the character Tony says the most important thing he cares about and the camera pans to his girlfriend.

Statefarm Tells a Tale of Long Lost Twins

NBA's Chris Paul meets State Farm's Cliff Paul

So in the video above is a small ad by State Farm that tells the tale of NBA basketball star Chris Paul and his long lost brother, State Farm agent Cliff Paul. Here is a link to another video for some more closure on the video above. Though it is a good story, another effect of this tale was gathering publicity. The two brothers are known as masters in the world of assisting creating a feeling of safety that drew publicity towards State Farm and the NBA. Though I'm not sure what is the correct term for this form of advertising, they used Chris Paul's fame to their advantage when making this ad because it drew the public's attention and his and his brother's talent for assisting to make it seem that State Farm is a great insurance and will always be there to assist. Whether this be true for State Farm, it'll probably be true to whoever has Cliff Paul as their insurance guy.
